Wrap-a-Read Volunteers in December of each year

Wrap-a-Read is a heartwarming annual family literacy program where families registered with the Langley Christmas Bureau are invited to choose a brand-new book for their child during Toy Depot Days in December. This special experience helps children build their home libraries and fosters a lifelong love of reading.

We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to support families in selecting books that match their children’s interests and reading levels.

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome families and create a warm, positive experience
  • Help children choose books that spark their interest
  • Offer guidance based on age and reading level
  • Answer simple questions and provide encouragement
  • Keep book displays tidy and organized
  • Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff

What We’re Looking For

  • A positive, patient, and approachable attitude
  • Enjoyment of working with children and families
  • Basic communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliability and punctuality

Time Commitment
✔ One 2.5-hour shift during the four Toy Depot Days in December

No prior experience is needed—just a passion for helping others and a love of reading!

Be part of spreading the joy of reading this holiday season and make a meaningful difference in your community.
