Wrap-a-Read is a heartwarming annual family literacy program where families registered with the Langley Christmas Bureau are invited to choose a brand-new book for their child during Toy Depot Days in December. This special experience helps children build their home libraries and fosters a lifelong love of reading.
We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to support families in selecting books that match their children’s interests and reading levels.
What You’ll Do
Welcome families and create a warm, positive experience
Help children choose books that spark their interest
Offer guidance based on age and reading level
Answer simple questions and provide encouragement
Keep book displays tidy and organized
Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff
What We’re Looking For
A positive, patient, and approachable attitude
Enjoyment of working with children and families
Basic communication and interpersonal skills
Reliability and punctuality
Time Commitment ✔ One 2.5-hour shift during the four Toy Depot Days in December
No prior experience is needed—just a passion for helping others and a love of reading!
