Bookmarks for Books! 2023 Family Week activity.

What does Literacy Mean to you and your Family?

Print your bookmarks on colored paper if you have it, if not white is great too. Colour, draw, write about what Literacy means you and/or your family. Bring the completed boomark to your local Langley Library and receive a FREE book (books are from ages 0-18, however we encourage the whole family to be involved in the activity).

The bookmarks will be displayed at the Langley Arts Gallery Feb 13-21, 2023.

No printer? No problem. Copies are available at Langley FVRL locations or download it here.

Want more ideas to celebrate Family Literacy Week?

“Make it Count! Play, sort, measure” is a great message to share with families. It’s the theme of this year’s Family Literacy Week, January 23rd to 30th.

Numeracy is everywhere. Children start using math the moment they start exploring the world. Sorting, counting and measuring are ways of playing with math. Talking about math with children helps build a positive attitude towards math. Math talk helps your child connect math with daily activities.

Need ideas? Download the free Make it Count! Play, sort, measure! activity sheets with active play suggestions for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and primary school children.
